i remember exactly when i became obsessed with gossip magazines. it was when tom and nicole broke up, a bit late compared to other people. i know most of it was made up, kind of figured that out as most of the pregnancies lasted at least eighteen months. but every week there's a shocking new revelation and every week i grew more and more obsessed. when i found myself drawing a mustache and horns on penelope's pictures, i decided that enough is enough. i am a worldly, intelligent young woman who cannot be manipulated by all this rubbish. i threw out all of my weeklies and numerous copies of cosmopolitan. how many times can you read an article about how to give a snow job anyway? after a while i started to miss it, especially when brad and jen broke up. old habits do die hard but this time it's under control. my principles no longer allow me to purchase them, but i can still read them for free. just a little trip to the newsagents now and then, no harm done.
now i imagine that somewhere out there, someone is giving me a mustache and horns and possibly batwings. it makes me giggle a little.
